AspenDance Alpacas is proud to offer farm sitting services for those times when you just have to get away, and the relatives and neighbors (and kids) are all too busy (or don't know how to properly care for your critters!).
Whether you just need an extra pair of hands for a few hours, or need someone to help with "cria watch," or need to be gone for a day or a weekend, we can provide the services you need. We understand the care and safety of your alpaca investment is your number one priority when you are away.
Before you leave, we will be out to your farm to look at the layout, help you with the chores, and take notes regarding any special care or instructions you may have. While you are away, we will take notes during every visit, documenting how things went and if we observed anything of concern.
Kelly and Victoria have both participated in Marty McGee-Bennett's CameliDynamics two-day Basic Clinic where we learned about respectful handling and training techniques for alpacas and llamas (to view a PDF of our certificates of completion click here). We use two-way adjustable Zephyr halters when haltering is necessary, and will always have some with us in case of an emergency transport situation or necessary herd management task.
Cost is $25/visit (60-90mn per visit), with an option for overnight on-site care for an additional $25, plus mileage as per the current IRS mileage rate.
Cost for "extra hands" (help with herd management tasks, shearing, cria watch, etc.) may vary from $15/hour to $50/day depending on length of time needed.
We are happy to provide care for other animals (other livestock, guard dogs, indoor dogs and cats, etc.) but prices will vary and will depend on the additional length of time each visit will take and the number of animals being cared for. We will be happy to provide a quote during our pre-visit.
