Think having your own website has to be expensive? Then you may be surprised to learn that this website, with its three dozen+ pages and mirror pages costs me a whopping $12/year for the domain name, which includes a set amount of space to post web pages for free (visit webhero.com to learn more about their services).
I did not have hundreds of dollars to pay a website developer to build this site for me, nor did I want to pay expensive monthly fees to a company to host my site. I also wanted complete control over the layout, colors, font, etc. that I just wasn't finding with the free templates many website hosting companies provide.
How did I do this? Learned how to program in HTML, and build my own web pages and upload them to the domain server myself. I am not a programmer nor do I possess an Information Technology degree (that would be Kelly). But HTML is not a difficult language to learn, and building basic web pages is not difficult to master.
If however you have neither the time nor desire to learn a web development language, you still don't have to break the bank to own your own business website. For the first ten people who inquire, I am offering to design a basic web page with your own business name.com (if your business name has already been taken, we can find something similar) for FREE in order to gain additional experience in website building. The only cost to you will be reserving the domain name (the domain name cost varies by domain company - mine was $11.95 through Webhero, link above). After the promotion ends, a 1-page website will be $50, and additional website pages can be added for $25/page.
Your one-page site will contain all of the important items folks usually turn to Google to find out about your business - your contact information, e-mail address, telephone numbers, business hours, maps and directions, and a photo or two. I can even link it to your Alpacanation or Openherd sales pages.
In this age of technology, where nearly everyone uses the internet as a phone book and first point of contact, don't be left behind by not having your own business name website. Most folks will pass you by if they cannot find your business on the internet, or will leave your farm page and jump to another if your only sales pages are on communal sites listing sales for hundreds of different farms. Keep customers where you want them - coming to your own website.
